On the 28th of November 2013 there was a hectic hail storm in the West Rand Region and due to the nature of damages on my car, Miway has written my car off. Solani and Roelien sent me a letter informing me of the settlement amount Miway will pay to me (I decided to keep my car). A week or so before the date of the letter I phoned and spoke to a Henk at Miway to find out how the salvage amount work (this is the amount Miway takes due to the fact that I am keeping my car). Henk said it works out between 35 - 40% of your car's market value. My car's market value was R 70 500.00 at the time of the claim. Viewing the letter received from Solani and Roelien the settlement amount Miway wanted to pay out to me was way less than the amount I worked out on a worst case scenario (Miway taking 40% and my excess). I mailed Roelien and Solani twice in last week requesting them to send me a breakdown before I sign any settlement and up until today I have not received any feedback whatsoever. I would really like to settle this claim as I have a car to settle with the bank since I don't have insurance on it any more but the service from Miway employees is really not up to standard.
