First National Bank
EBucks Adjustment

In Nov, I spent R33, 656 on my Gold credit card and earned 3, 366 eBucks (as noted by FNB on my monthly email statement). Typically eBucks are capped at 1, 000 per month but an FNB error had resulted in no cap being applied to my credit card for the month. Yesterday I realised that 2, 366 of the eBucks had been reversed. My issues are: 1) Why have FNB reversed the award of the 2, 366 eBucks above the cap when they have already awarded these eBucks and noted me of the award (other financial services companies / retailers such as Woolies / PnP would have borne the cost of the error)? 2) Why did FNB not bother to call me to explain their error?

After noticing this error, I reviewed my past statements and noted that at some point between Jul '12 and Feb '13, FNB had changed the cap from 2, 000 to 1, 000 eBucks per month. I have previously adjusted my spend on my credit and cheque cards based on the 2, 000 eBucks level which I believed still applied. This adjustment has cost me 4, 353 eBucks. I can not find any communication noting this major change. Why did FNB make this change and why did they not communicate this change?

Regards

Chris
