I bank with Standard Bank (I'm a Prestige Member) & have registered & been apart of Standard Bank's U-Count Rewards for 6 months and would like to bring to everyone attention the big U-Count Standard Bank is running. They advertise rewards back for spending with various partners like Pick n Pay & Woolworths etc. What they forget to advertise is that they charge you R 20 / per month for this service. in the 6 months I've been a U-Count member I have only accumulated R 139.00 rewards back, but I have paid R 120 in membership fee. I spend an average of R 6000.00 per month with Pick n Pay and R 2000.00 with Woolworths and this is what reward I've got back. When I phoned and questioned this with Standard Bank I was told I do not receive rewards with my shopping as there are various reward levels and I'm only a level one and you only receive shopping rewards with Pick n Pay etc. if you are a higher level. (which they don't tell you in the beginning or advertise.) They than explained that for me to get a higher level rating I need to use cell phone banking 3 times a month and accept all their marketing & advertising material.
