Payment not appearing on statement

On the 28 September and 31 Octer 2013 I have made a payment of R4000 to FINCHOICE, to my suprise this money never appeared with their statement (payment record) I was then told to fax proof of payment and i did so.

On the 13 November 2013, I received a call from A VAN DER WALT ATTORNEYS to inform me that my account has been handed over to them and my total balance is R11 368.87.

How can this be possible when I made a payment arrangement with FinChoice which as per the attached proof of payment, I honoured diligently?

Originally, I knew my balance to be R9000-odd; and we made the agreement that I'll pay it off in R2000 installments

I still haven't heard anything from FINCHOICE, when I call FINCHOICE no one has an update for me.

FINCHOICE has not made any effort to resolve this.
