This is a complaint about Jamie Coetzee who on behalf of Absa Insurance misrepresented/misled/completely botched up my insurance. On 03/11/13 I met up in an accident where my car veered off the dirt road and fell into a ditch; knowing I have insurance I phoned Absa Insurance requesting toeing assistance. I spoke to an Agent (Noxolo) who took down the full details of the car, make and model and confirmed that. The car was insured and that it was covered; then I was advised that a tow truck was on the way and it arrived and took my car away. I tried calling Jamie Coetzee with the matter to claim and I was told that I'm not insured as my cover was only to commence from 04/11/13, since the accident happened on 03/11/13 I was not covered. What is mind boggling to me is how come my insurance was made only for the 4/11/13 when I took possession of the car on the last week of October; I don't recall this being our agreement and as such I wish for Jamie to show me documents where I signed for Insurance to commence on 4/11/13. And if all this is true, why was my car towed then by Absa Insurance only for me to incur R2400 in cost to release my car when I was told I had no cover suddenly.
