SBIB do not deliver on their promises

Frank Campbell Hall, the claimant, my father-in law is a pensioner (83 years old). He has banked and insured all his life with Standard Bank.
He was robbed by a group of 5 gun welding black men on 29th July 2013. They both his vehicles and ransacked his house looking for items of value. The robbers kicked him so badly that today 3 months later his wounds on his legs are still not healed.
A claim was lodged for the of both his vehicles (blue Opel Astra - 1995 model and blue Ford 1 Tonner and household contents.
About 2 months later the claim on the Opel Astra and household contents was settled. However, the claim for the Ford 1 Tonner was rejected, as SBIB offered R4000 whereas SBIB's own assessor had confirmed the market value for the vehicle to be R15000. This vehicle was insured under 3rd Party, Fire and. The policy contract stipulated the amount to be paid out in the event of a claim was "market related".
On 10 October SBIB were requested to advise the progress of the dispute lodged. Siboniso responded, "Kindly note that i have listen to the sales call and sent it to management for their conclusion on the query. "
