Standard Bank
Pushing the envelope

Six weeks ago I applied for an addition bond on my house. I met with my Prestige banker who did my application. In no time at all my bond was approved on principle. My house was then assessed by a Standard Bank assessor who assessed it at more than the current loan amount and new application combined. I also run an occupation practise from there.
I then received the bond papers from the bank. That's when my nightmare with Standard Bank started. They requested a "CONSENT USE CERTIFICATE FOR THE BUSINESS USAGE REQUIRED PRIOR TO GRANTING OF THE LOAN". BCM has no such thing as a "CONSENT USE CERTIFICATE" thus they use the letter that seems as clear as day to me. BUT not to Standard Bank. They insisted on the Certificate. The one that does NOT exist. So now I've been back and forth with letters and requests. I asked the home loans department of SB to tell me what they want to have said in a letter from BCM so my loan could be granted. BUT they can't. always excuses.
Up until two months ago I honestly felt like a valued client, thats until now when I needed them, and they failed me.
