On the standard bank website they offer short term insurance with an "option" of getting the 13th month free.
WOW what an offer you might think. So I called them up to get a quote, the usual terms and conditions and I get a quote of R901.61. Then I ask is the 13th month free is that included in that. The answer is no, for that I have to pay R1019.76. Hold on take 1019.76 * 12 = 12 237.12 and divide that by 13 to get the average per month I get R 941.31. That means that not only am I paying R 78.45 more per month for this "FREE" offer, it in essence works out to R40 more per month to get your 13th month free.
I'll stick with my current short term insurer who do things "my way" thank you very much.
I am very disappointed to say the least!
