I had knee surgery 2 years ago before I left to work in Mauritius. Unfortunately the medical did not settle all the surgeons bill (I am sure you have all heard of the gap) Unfortunately being overseas I was only made aware of this in February this year when I turned on my South African cellphone.
I immediately settled the amount with the surgeon and apologized for the misunderstanding. (It was a small amount of 3k only)
The debt administrators were informed of this by me and the surgeon and they clearly ignored this. On 2 occasions after this they called me and asked why I had not settled causing my jaw to shatter as it hit the floor. No amount of explaining from me or the surgeons accountant actually hit home.
They then black listed me and it has taken over a 100 phone calls to try to get the point through, what a joke.
Dealing with peoples credit history is NB and should be treated as such, not by these guys. I wouldn't use them to manage my outstanding debt as they are far from professional.
