On 27 March 2013 I gave FNB official notice of cancellation/ settlement of my bond. Somehow that notice was never communicated within the relevant sections, as a result, my bond continued for an additional 2 months and I incurred 2 extra months interest and installments. They also charged me an early termination fee. I managed to get them to refund the early termination fee due to their error, and they acknowledged it was their error. However, after making several calls about the interest charged and explaining this issue to their home loan section, I keep getting told it needs to be escalated, and the manager will call me back.
This never happens, it's been going on for 2 months now.
I'm in the process of buying another house now and my next home loan will definitely be going to ABSA, Std, or Nedbank.
