I have my Houseowners insurance with Outsurance. On enquiring as to the cost of the identical insurance I was quoted R554.40 from a broker compared to R1156.82 that I am paying with Outsurance. I phoned Outsurance and asked for a explanation as to how they can be more than double the going rate. On three occasions they said that they would get a manager to phone me and I am still waiting. One is constantly being bombarded with adverts which state that Outsurance cuts out the middle man (Broker) and implies that you are getting a better deal. My advice is please call a Broker as you might find that you are also being significantly overcharged.
As I am typing this letter there is a Outsurance advert on this page stating that you get a big slice of your premiums back. I am sure that if i take the R600 which is in excess of the going rate and invest it I would get a significant part of my premiums back after a few years
