MBD Attorneys, through Gerhard van der Merwe, sent a tracer to my officers to force me to sign an acknowledgement of debt on a prescribed Woolworths account (Ref: 0378000021511930) which was part of a Debtors book they bought. I did not sign it, even though they claim they have my signature! The lady left me a reference number and bank details. They threatened a garnishee order and i just paid to avoid embarrassment (as it was a new job), been paying since May 2012. In that time they made no single call to remind me. From the R6000 they said I initially owed they say i still owe R5900 after having made payments to the tune of R3300! They must prove that it is my signature and i am invoking the law of prescription for protection. I am sick of this illegal practice of ripping people off. I have sent this to my lawyers as a result. A woolworths account i once had never had a credit limit exceeding R2000! that was more than 10 year go!
