Standard Bank
Failure to pay funds from call deposit account

I gave notice to withdraw funds from my call deposit (32 day notice) account on 12 April 2013 at my branch - received a copy of the 'Instructions' document which indicated that the funds would be paid into my current account on 14 May. When this did not happen, I phone the customer care line - they initially said the funds were not paid because I did not indicate into which account they should be paid and when I pointed out this was not true, they said that there was no record that I had given notice. They then put me through to the Sandton City branch - the number just rang and there was no answer. I then lodged a complaint on the website on 21 May - I received an automated email acknowledgement, and heard nothing further. I phoned the complaint enquiry number this morning. The person who answered said that my complaint had been allocated to Maxine - he tried to put me through to her, but she was not available. In the meantime, the interest that I am paying on my overdraft is greater than the interest I am earning on my call account.
