Poor servise provided at FNB

On the 20th April 2013, my mother withdrew cash from one of FNB's ATM. While she was still busy, and had already put in the PIN number, the ATM swallowed the card. A few minutes after the card couldnt come out, a Withdrawal of R3 000 was made from her account. She then called FNB to block the card. When she visited the branch at FNB York road, they confirmed that the withdrawal was made at SPAR. She's a very old FNB client, she reported it with the hope of getting assistance. The consultant that was helping confirmed that they are busy with investigations they will give her feedback. however, she never got any responce. After month on the 30th of May, she went back to the same branch, instead of explaining and giving full information to my mother, they printed her a letter that says FNB regrets to inform her that it will not accept the loss so my mother will be held responsilbe for the transaction loss. NOW MY QUESTION IS THAT, WHY DO WE KEEP OUR MONEY WITH THE BANKS IF IT IS NOT SAFE? HOW CAN SUCH A HUGE COMPANY GIVE A LAME EXCUSE LIKE THIS? ISN'T FNB WHO IS SUPPOSE TO ENSURE THAT OUR MONEY IS SECURED? HOW IS A CLIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY? WE DEMAND A BETTER SERVICE THAN THIS!
