I bought a voucher from Groupon in mid '13 for dinner at an Indian restaurant in Stellenbosch. I confirmed and booked the dinner in Nov to redeem the voucher. We drove to Stellenbosch and when we arrived the manager informed us that they had not food left to serve us, and that they were closing their doors. We had not option but to go to the only other Indian restaurant in Stellenbosch. The dinner eventually cost us - R450. I informed Groupon of this a day later and requested a refund and them to advise what the company's policy is regarding compensation for their partner's non-delivery. Groupon advised that they will provide us with credit on my Groupon account for the amount we initially paid. They were and are still silent on the company's compensation policy. I advised that I am not interested in credit and that they should make a cash refund. After 2 weeks, I had to enquire again. They informed me that they will provide me with credit. I insisted on a cash refund. They agreed to do a cash refund.By Jan no payment was made and requested same again. Groupon concluded by declining to do so as credit has been given. (I never agreed to this!). Useless automatic e-mail responses
