Emirates - Daylight

On the 25th November 2012 I purchased 2 tickets to India via Emirates online. On the 21st January 2013 we discovered my girlfriend was 5 weeks pregnant and therefore unable to travel to India as she was now unable to receive the mandatory vaccinations. We provided medical proof of the pregnance to Emirates and requested refund of the ticket price. Emirates waived the cancellation fee but only refunded the tax on the tickets stating that the ticket price is "non-refundable". This contravenes the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and I will be lodging a formal complaint with the Consumer Protection Commission for the following reasons:

o I contacted Emirates immediately to inform them of the circumstances (24th of January 2013).
o I cancelled timeously providing ample time to resell the tickets (14 weeks' notice).
o Medical reasons were provided with support of a doctor's note.

Ticket Numbers: 176 2170013407-08 and 176 2170013409-10

So they are keeping my money and reselling those seats at a higher price as I bought them while a special was running. How can they justify that???
