I signed a new contract on the 24 December 2013. At the time the agent did not ask if I wished to port my number or that I will receive a new one. Being the 24 he said I must return on the 26th. I return to find them closed. I went to the telkom store in Greenstone and did a number port. The number I want to port to my contract is already on the 8ta prepaid network. I waited until after new years. I returned to the branch where I purchased the phone. To which I was told a normal port won't work. A case was logged and I was told I have to wait 5 days. I waited to no reply. I then phoned the call centre who said the port was cancelled by their system for an unknown error. Who then said she will email the branch to redo the port. It is now the 15 of January 2014. Still no number port. I have been told I must return to the store and redo the port. My question is should I have to redo this process again or should I terminate the contract. The phone and network work brilliantly. I just hate the fact I need to carry two phones on me at all times. This is the 21st century where issues like this should not happen.
