On 4 July 2011 I have entered a 2 year club membership agreement with Virgin Active, Hatfield Branch. According to my knowledge my contract expired on 31 July 2013 as it was only a 2 year contract, but still after July 2013, an instalment of R349, 00 were deducted each month from my account. I raised a query with them on 19/12/2013 and requested them to inform me as to when my contract will expire. Inshaaf from Virgin Active informed me that my contract expired on 31/07/2013 but as per the membership agreement my contract is AUTO-RENEWABLE after my 24 months initial period (which NOBODY told me the day I signed). He further informed me that should I wish to cancel the contract (which already expired) I need to give 20 business days written notice in order to cancel the contract. On 20/12/2013 I have replied to him, informed him that I haven't gym for more than a year, after motorcycle accident and they must cancel the contract as I was under the impression that the contract would automatically be cancelled after 24 months ("2 year contract"). They still deducted R349, 00 from my account on 2/1/2014 and 3/2/2014 after the expiry date!
