In 2012 I submitted my SARS tax return with my rental income. It was incorrectly captured on efiling and i recieved a letter to re-submit with supporting docs. There was no indication of what supporting docs was required. Once i submitted the documents that i thought was required, in November 2012, i only got feedback in May 2013, 6 months later. In this time interest has been accumulating. When I did recieve the feedback, it was invalid again.
After consulting with a tax consultant, I resubmitted again with all the relevant documents again. 2/3 months later I get another response saying that it has been rejected again, requiring valid reasons. I submitted again with valid reasons and it got rejected again for better reasons. I added more reasons to it and submitted again in December 2013, after speaking to a consultant telephonically as SARS.
Yesterday, I get feedback that the dispute has been rejected again because they require reasons. I spoke to a tax consultant and he advised that the reasons are valid.
its going on 2 years and this has not been resolved, but last years tax return was done perfect. Does SARS know what they are doing?
