I need to warn everyone that Santam does not replace your original jewellery but wants to replace it with knock off jewellery thus it is a waste to insure with them. I put in a claim for a wedding band that I lost but according to the assessor I have NO RIGHT to nominate my own jeweller which I bought the jewellery from even though it's EXACTLY the same item that is replace. Same value that was insured for and everything.
I contacted the jewellery store as well and apparently they already had claims from other people using Santam. So why am I refused the right? I think i actually need to take this up with the ombudsman since this is FALSE insurance.
I think after over 10 years it's finally time to move to another insurance company.
