HORRENDOUS service by Intercape bus, NUMBER 113

I caught the Intercape bus from Pretoria to Bulawayo at 1600 yesterday. It was supposed to arrive in Bulawayo today at 0800. Once gathered at the bus station in PTA, there was no communication with passengers whatsoever. No one knew what the baggage or ticket procedure was. Once settled we spent over 4 hrs stuck in traffic to Johannesburg during which time we did not hear from the Intercape Crew. Upon arrival in JHB our baggage was simply offloaded onto the sidewalk without our knowledge. OTHER PASSENGERS told the the rest that we should wait for stickers to put on our bags and return them to the trailer.

We arrived at the Beit Bridge border post at 3am and cleared the SA and ZWE immigration with no problem. After stamping our passports, we waited at the bus for 4 hours without instruction. After numerous approaches by passengers to the Intercape crew we were hesitantly told that there is a mechanical failure and that they did not have a mechanic on board. We waited for another hour without apology or any update whatsoever before collecting our baggage and making our own way home. We arrived home 23hrs after departure and I am positive that the bus has still not arrived. PATHETIC
