These Internationally based Kiosks that pop up all over malls in SA, have become quite potent with their selling ploy's, false advertising and skill to entice walking trade into their "lair" of Deception.
Foreign sales people using their accents to attract. They offer 20% discounts, and the famous sales line ..."I will give you my staff discount if you purchase" .. Yes that's the one!
I had the miss fortune of once again, giving the benefit of a doubt to yet another Kiosk, this time, in the Cape Town International Airport of all places. I was told that all stock was on sale for 20% off. I sat down, had a hair sample treatment done, and got cracking with the pricing negotiation. I proceed to ask for a cost on the little comb, to which she said it would be R300, "but for you... R200"...
I say done deal, and take my card out to pay. I swipe the card and get the slip... I was charged R300.
I confronted this false advertising, to which I was rudely put in my place for "making her out to be the she was". Please DO NOT purchase from these kiosks, I have been by over 5, from makeup, hand cream to hair products. Support Local Business, not the foreign one's please.
