Incorrect ticket issued refusal to cancel ticket

My sister purchased a ticket on my behalf from shoprite checkers in Durban for the 08/12/2013 which was suppose to be a return ticket. I then realised that the ticket was for the 07/12/2013 the day I was leaving JHB for Durban. I then went to the park station to cancel the ticket. I was then advised because I didnt purchase the ticket I cant cancel the ticket. I produced my Id which is SK Zondo and advised them that my sister TL Zondo had purchased the ticket on my behalf. They refused to cancel the ticket. I then called the call centre and tried to cancel the ticket at 17.00 after 2 hours spent trying to convince them to cancel ticket. I was advised I can only cancel the ticket 6 hours before trip. I wasnt even aware of the problem until i got to their offices and they told me the ticket is for the same day. I had not even purchased the ticket 6 hours before departure. I expect a full refund in cash and not 14 days waiting period as this was a cash purchase not a cheque that takes seven days.
