My husband & I have both been loyal MTN customers ever since the dawn of cellphones. We live in a remote area 80Km's away from the nearest MTN shop. MTN Direct therefore appealed to us with their motto "Save yourself time - pick, click, deliver Beep Beep". On 18th April, we both ordered a phone from MTN Direct - their Order No's 6481609 & 6481642 - Nokia Asha 302 on MTN Anytime 100. We received an e mail confirmation from MTN the same day informing us a consultant would contact us within 3 working days to finalise our orders. We heard nothing more. So, on 24th April I telephoned the MTN number on their e mail they say to contact if you have any queries on the order. I spoke at length to a lady called Ronel who told me that when we placed our orders they had no stock of our requested phones. I thought it was contrary to the Advertising Standards Authority & the Consumer Protection Act to advertise something you don't actually have to sell? Ronel assured me she'd escalate my concern to a Supervisor & someone would get urgently back to me. No-one has & it's now 17 days since we placed our orders. Ronel furthurmore told me to go to an MTN Store so what happened to on line buying?
