Dishonest salespeople and inflated billing-!!

In December Telkom advertised the Convergence Package-Telkom Simple for R399.My husband phoned a few times before installation to confirm how much the installation fee was. All the sales people that he spoke to assured him that it was free.line was installed on 14/01/2013.My husband received an sms on 15/01/2013 stating that we will be charged pro-rata rental on his first rental. We received our telkom account on 25/01/2013&almost fell on our backs. Here we were expecting an account of R399, only to find a charge of R577.022-This is ALMOST DOUBLE? There were charges for 14/01- 20/01 and then also from 21/01- 20/02.I find it FUNNY that the sales people on the phone FAILED to mention that we will need to pay one month in advance as well. What a!!! Talk about duping people into thinking that its a 'special'. Does it look like we have money growing on trees? Secondly, the salesperson mentioned that the package was from month-to-month so that we could upgrade our internet package. We NOW see on the invoice that its a 24 month contract-THE DECEIT! Just spoke to a consultant who said that we should pay the incorrect account&then it will be credited to us. WHY MUST WE PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES???
