We have a company blackberry on contract with 8TA/Telkom Mobile that we wanted to
send in for repairs as it has faulty hardware which is manufacturers fault. At the telkom
store they wanted us to show them the original invoice that the contract was taken out
with!! How's this primitive service for you!! Apparently this is to see if they really
supplied the specific phone to us... Not even the other networks ask for this! Why can't
they look up all the needed info on their computers like the other service providers,
surely they must have all the listed IMEI numbers on file? And the best of all, they only
give you a year's warranty where the other networks gives you 2 years repair warrenty!! Just another
example of a company with the worst track record of service in this country! I really
expected more. There is no way that we will renew the 4 contracts we currently have
with them, after this experience! If somebody queries me about Telkom Mobile, I will
have no choice but to tell them the truth so that they will reconsider their options.
