Out of the blue I was charged R873.4 at the end of November, split into two amounts of R436.7. I was told that the annual CPI has taken effect (contract expired in March 2012). This explains the increase from the usual R397 to R436.7. I was further told that I was charged an annual double levy of R436.7. Whereas the annual CPI is clearly stated in my contract, I cannot find any information regarding the double levy.
What upsets me the most is how Planet Fitness deals with its customers. I initially contacted Customer Service on the 3rd of December. The first and only response I got was on the 31st of December, almost 1 month later. The person who contacted me was anything but competent and still has not replied to my follow-up email. More importantly, I am very disappointed that I have not been notified about the annual CPI and that no one cared to inform me about the alleged annual levy.
As I am not able to find any information about an annual levy in my contract and since this has not been communicated with me at all, I expect a refund of R436.7. In addition to that, I expect some kind of compensation to make up for the absolutely incompetent customer service I have received.
