I have just arrived back from Boardmans in Green Point and am disgusted at the way I was treated by the security in the building and the staff at this branch.
I drove into the parking and mentioned to security that I was going to Boardmans. I filled in a form and was told where the Boardman's parking bays were.
After looking around at the shop i went back to my car to find that it had been clamped. I was told that I had left the shop and was not shopping in the store. I left the shop temporarily to check something down the road and then when I returned I carried on looking at ktichen essentials that I am pricing. This I was told is not shopping at Boardmans and it is R1000 to have my wheels unclamped as I was illegally parked.
I was told to park in the bay that I did. Nowhere did it say I could not leave the shop for a few minutes. Nowhere did it say have to actually purchase something. When approaching the staff at Boardmans they said that the parking is owned by the landlord and is private - even though there are big Boardmans signs. They said that its not their problem. Security were rude with a '' complex. The only illegal thing is clamping a private vehicle for ransom.
