On the 27th August 2012, I went to a furncity store at Atlyn, I bought a 5 PCE Manhattan Kitchen Scheme valued at R4999.99. I was assisted Wendy who worked out that the repayment cost for the items will be R8528.00 andmonthly installment of R266.29. I then agreed to purchase the items on credit and my furniture was delivered. Unknown to me that my nightmare is about to begin. I discovered a few weeks ago that i was deceived to take a personal loan with African bank to finance the furniture at a total repayment of R19172.88 over 72 installments. Included in the repayment is the actual amount i was told will be my total repayment and interest of R5460.12 intiation fee of R1029.19 monthly service fee of R57.00 credit life insurance R57.73 @ interst rate of 30.50%. This is unfair, Mischievous and i regard it is and by furn city. I was not told that a personal loan was taken on my behalf to finance the transaction neither was the contract supplied or explained to me. My right to disclosure of information, Right to fair and honest dealing has been violated. I have requested my son to take legal action against this unscrupulous retailer.
