I no longer shop at Tygervalley Pick'n Pay, it has been a while coming but eventually enough is enough. If I am ever at the bakery queue, and some else arrives after me, that person gets served first; and when I am served it is like they are doing me a massive favour by giving me what I have asked for.
The girls at the till are so sour I am surprised that my milk does not curdle. Carefully chosen unbruised fruit is tossed across the checkout so that it is bruised or damaged, fizzy drinks are knocked over and bashed so that they explode when opened, there is little if any logic applied to packing. so often a bag of apples is put on top of the soft fresh rolls. The checkout girls conversation with the packer is way more important than being polite or friendly or even professional.
I will drive an extra km or two to the Boston store, where the staff are friendly and helpful. or even the Brackenfell hyper - even though I work right next door to Tygervalley, and it is the closest Pick'n Pay to our house.
