The customer comes last!

On Sunday 2nd Feb, my wife and I decided to buy a gift off a friends registry. We checked online to see what time the store would close, and saw that it would be open until 2pm.

We get there at 13:30 and see a note in the window that the store is closed for stock-take.

So not only did they waste our precious time, but they also wasted our petrol for having travelled all the way there and back for nothing.

This could have been avoided!
1.They could have put the correct info on their website.
2.They could have sms'd us this info as we were already on our friends registry sms list.

I am disgusted that they do their stock take within their advertised customer shopping hours.

So I took it up with the store mgr hinting that they may be able to compensate me in some way i.e. 10% discount on my next purchase or something. The mgr took it up with 'the owner' at head office and the response was something to the effect, "Sorry, this is the way we do business, we wont do anything for you."

So my response is, "I'll stay away from the Baby City chain, and I'll spread the word and make sure that the R50 they could have compensated me with will end up costing them R100k in the long run! "
