I decided to use Takealot to do my book purchases for my Postgrad course this year to avoid queues and stockouts and hopefully save money. I inadvertently purchased the incorrect book. I accepted delivery of the book as I only came to this realisation when I compared it to the course material at home. I contacted Takealot on the email provided on their website and expected to be told that since I had accepted delivery and it was my error that there was nothing they could do. At best, I would get a reduced refund. Not only was I told that I would be entitled to a full refund but that the courier service would be in contact with me to collect the book at my convenience. After the assessment period I was notified that the credit would appear on my bank account. Thank you Takealot for your friendly efficient service. Highly unexpected and greatly appreciated in the ever increasing lack of service environment we as consumers have become accustomed to.
