I bought all my Clover cream for various desserts on 23 December. These were marked Extra pasteurised.
I needed to make a dessert for that night as well as for my trifle on the 24th.
I spent over 10 minutes trying to beat the cream with an electric beater, with absolutely no success.
It got slightly thick, but remained watery. Needless to say my dessert flopped.
My sister used the same cream in her cooking, and said it was watery and not creamy at all.
Needless to say I had to return to the shops on the 24th to return the items and go find new cream. (parmalat, much better!)
It took 2 minutes to beat parmalat cream to nice soft peaks.
Suffice is to say I will NEVER be taking a chance and using Clover cream again!
I feel sorry for all those people who bought the same cream for their trifles and only found out on Christmas Day that it was not usuable!
I notice that that same cream is still on the shelves at Pick 'n Pay.
