I visited the new Checkers earlier today with my motorcycle. Upon entry to the center, I noticed there's no parkings allocated for motorbikes. I continued to park close to the entrance to the center - normally if there's no bike parkings at a center, it is commonly allowed for bikes to park at the entrance.
However, a security officer approached me and said I'm not allowed to park there. I asked him where I must park, seeing as there's no bike parkings. He replied that I must stop on a car parking. I told him this is ridiculous, seeing as I will then occupy a whole parking space in an already limited parking area. I also refuse to stop my bike between cars due to the general recklessness of people towards bikes. I asked where the center manager is, to which he said she's not there, so I cannot complain and must move.
It is really pathetic for any center to not have bike parkings, but have almost 20 paralyzed parkings available, but only one was occupied at the time. I was also not allowed to park there.
I will therefore refuse to shop at the new Checkers store again, until they rectify this, and I will inform all my biker friends also to do the same.
