My wife went to do shopping at said retailer, on entering realised she had left her bags at home and purchased 10 bags at the cigarette counter. On returning home she asked me to help carry the bags into the house, what a struggle as just about all the bags were broken. Fortunately nothing broke as I now had to carry one bag at a time and support it. I was always led to believe that these bags had to conform to certain specs. as set out by the SABS and government, but it does not seem as if any one is inspecting these bags anymore to make sure they conform to the standard specifications. Its not about the few cents one pays for these bags but the principal behind this. Should something have fallen out and broken at my premises it's my loss not the retailers. I think I would really like some one to test these bags to make sure and ensure they meet the required standards.
