I am a Restauranteur on Kloof Street and use Checkers as one of my convenience stores!! After a boycott of 2yrs because of poor service, I returned to the new revamped store! I shop for my perishables daily and drop a min. of R500 and would spend more if only you were BETTER STOCKED!!! There is a constant shortage of fruit and veg, and when you have it, it's ROTTEN!!! Shortages of dairy products ie. milk. Eggs are another problem! Tetra packed orange juice, coke n coke lite cans!!! Sugar... small mis 'n place items... yip... SHORTAGES of bare essentials... no beluga caviar n warthog worsies requested here... they can't manage to stock the basics!!! Also NO COMMUNICATION via a note on the shelf that the item is unavailable!!! But wait for it... you also have to guess what the items cost as loads of it isn't marked!!! If I can't see a price, why bother to buy it as I am too busy to run after a unmarked item because management hasn't got it under control!!! Overall a really POOR MANAGED store which doesn't sell much of anything and unmarked nogal!!! Always a pleasure to shop there, my experience is always a "WOW! " NOT!! Tired of raising my blood pressure for a bag of tomatoes... ENOUGH!!!
