On Saturday I went to the Lambton Superspar to buy the Sunlight 3kg washing powder on special however the shelf was empty so I assumed they were out of stock. When I went to pay for my groceries I asked the lady at the till and she said that they are hiding there stock as customers were abusing the special, they then advertised the 2kg packets at the same price in order to confuse the consumer and they said it was an instore promotion. What was also upsetting is that the till lady was so scared that she was going to get in trouble because about 4 managers were watching her like a hawk. I understand that they have the right to limit how much a client can take but to hide the stock and then advertise a smaller version at the same price to me borders on defrauding the consumer. If this is how Spar treats there client's and staff then I ashamed that I ever shopped there. If I had never asked about the special I would never have known that they had stock, I even had to double check the pamphlet to make sure it was the correct kilo size on special. To me this is a very shameful practice in order to save money.
