Shoprite
Pork Stew branded as Mutton Stew

On 17/10/2013 I went to Shoprite Greenacres in Port Elizabeth to buy something for lunch. I asked for cooked rice and mutton stew as it was branded that way. On my return to the office I warmed the food and when I started eating I could taste that it wasn't mutton and when I looked carefully I realised that it was pale, like pork. I then asked my four colleagues to also taste and they confirmed. I do not eat pork for religious reasons. I called Shoprite Call centre to complain and was told that someone from the branch will phone me. I was then phoned by Esmeralda, the deli manager to come with whatever contents were left, but couldn't go on that day as I had already taken my lunch, so I promised to go the next day. On 18/10/2013 I went to Shoprite with the meat as asked by Esmeralda. On my arrival, without even asking to see the contents she said it was human error and that she had asked her staff to 'put veggies in mutton stew so as not to confuse it with pork stew. In my opinion I think she was arrogant and very inconsiderate. I had driven about 12km to get the store for her to smile and tell me it's a human error. I am very disappointed and will not spend a cent in Shoprite eve
