I enjoy nice hot beverages, and from time to time find myself at the Seattle Coffee counter. I am shocked at how wrong they get the basics. I can get better coffee at Wimpy or McDonald's for a fraction of the cost. The coffee doesn't taste fresh and I suspect the machines aren't regularly cleaned. The customers have to bus their own tables most of the time. The condiment table is a hot mess. The furniture is tattered, unkempt, and unsanitary. I once tried to order Chai (at Brooklyn) only to have the employee try to steer me away because, "We don't do chai that well." He was right; I couldn't even drink half. This past Saturday (at Menlyn), I was told I couldn't order iced coffee (or any cold beverage) because there was no ice. REALLY?! WHY NOT?! Worst case scenario, go downstairs and buy some. I wish there was something nice to say, but alas, ...
