With this being the third time that I have mentioned this incident to them I am now tired of the poor service and "". Every time that I buy there and the change works to be R 9.95, I only get R 9.90, there is 5 cents missing. As silly as that this sounds but it is the concept to it. With the 5 cents short per purchase, and they serve up to 500 people a day, that works out to R 25 a day, that is over in the till. Briefly looking and working on average of 25 days a month that are worked at this rate, it gives small bonus of about R 625 a month, that is over in the till. I know that the Hypermarket at the same place does the same. When questioning this I was told that they do not get 5 cents any more. Added to this the teller had said to me the she rounded it off, my math lessons taught me that if rounded off, the 5 becomes 10, not the other way around
I just feel that this is daylight. When looking at the Hypermarket there to doing the same there is rumour that just on a Saturday they turn over a million rand profit. That calculates to around R 50 000.00 for one day. Money counters there whether it be the teller or an appointed person walks away with a nice little bonus.
