I bought a bag of frozen vegetables a few weeks ago (green beans to be precise) and they were sour to the taste and smell when I opened them. I did not make a complaint as I just thought it was one of those things.
But last night I bought a pack of chunky biltong and the meat was so off it made both my girlfriend and myself experience chronic stomach cramps all night. I lodged the complaint with the Manager on duty, Neo, and he apologised and happily refunded me. He told me that he would let the butcher know as well as the owner Casper Du Bruin and I would receive a call today. It is now almost the end of the day and I have yet to receive any call.
This is now not only shocking quality and a serious health concern but also now shocking customer service. I would think with the recent meat scandal hitting South Africa that this issue would be taken extremely seriously.
This is not what I expect from Spar and I won't be shopping at the Pineslopes branch any longer. Neither will I be recommending this branch to anyone.
I am not the first to complain about the quality of certain food products at this branch. Residents have had enough of this poor quality and you are losing business.
