I used to love going to shop at Spar Pineslopes but since they have changed the counters at the deli to these high counters taller than an average size person one can no longer see behind and you no longer know what you are buying. My experience since this change is that it is no longer kept clean. I order something and I cannot see whether they are cutting it to what I had ordered and when I get home its not what I ordered. The cleanliness is atrocious. When ordering the cold cuts if you do not ask them to clean the machine they will just go ahead and use the filthy machine which has blood all over and what looks like old pieces of meat stuck in the blade and laying all over the counter where they just dump the roll of meat on top. Because the counters are so high you now have to squeeze in between them to see behind otherwise you have no idea what is happening. It makes me wonder about the cleanliness in other parts of the store where the other food is prepared. This is not only due to the recent renovations as its been like this for some time now. Spar, why do you only have one cutting machine? Surely you have made enough money to afford a second one by now!
