Refunding faulty iron

I bought a Platinum Iron at Checkers Silverlakes. It stopped working 6 months later and returned it to Checkers Life Style Centre (Centurion). They offered me money back or an exchange for a new one. I made an exchange. Three month later the iron stopped working again (it switches off randomly during ironing). I went to Checkers again. They told me that there is nothing wrong with the iron. And if there was they could not give me my money back, I'll have to exchange. They also don't have any irons in stock so they said that I will have to go to Silver Lakes and exchange it there. After explaining to them that the iron works and then switches off at any given time the manager said she will first have to test it at home and then she will tell me weather it is broken or not. She wrote her name down on a piece of paper and told me to come back next week!

I think it is a joke to treat a customer in that manner.
