As I walked out of checkers with my baby, pram & nappy bag, a man (Simphiwe) dressed in civvies stopped me and asked to search my nappy bag - without identifying himself to me. Inside he found a tube of unopened Bennetts Bum Cream and accused me of it. He got another security guard to stay with me while he went to call a manager. I didn't have signal on my phone so I told her I was going to walk up the passage to get signal so I could make a call. Simphiwe came to where I was standing in the passage, with his manager and 2 other men, one being Andre the regional manager. I got off the phone and insisted several times that they check their cameras and they would see I didn't the cream! At this point everyone walking past was staring at me like I was a & it was very embarrassing. Eventually Andre said I could go as he wasn't going to fight over bum cream. He gave me the impression that he thought I was guilty but wasn't going to argue over it. They apologized half heartedly but seemed hesitant to give me the bum cream back. I was absolutely appalled and traumatized about the way I was treated and I will be taking this matter further!
