On 1st May 2013, my 65 year old mother (a pensioner AND accompanied by my two minor children) visited Checkers @ Village Shopping Center in Horizon View Roodepoort - as they 2 to 3 times per week do for grocery shopping. At random - she was stopped by the Safeguard Security member - one Orapeleng - and interrogated about "what meat she bought."It seems the crux of the public interrogation this blithering was subjecting her to - had to do with a tag on a piece of cheese that had erroneously not been removed by the equally incompetent cashier from Checkers!! Note at this juncture that EVERYTHING WAS PAID FOR!!! Much to the delight of this braindead security guard AND a female so-called Controller (as they were laughing) - my Mom was highly upset at being searched and accused as if she was a common shoplifter!!! With the neccesary respect - if ANY is deserving - WHAT THE IS WRONG WITH CHECKERS?? YOU dont train your staff properly to remove tags for paid items - and then let your hired muscle at the door harrass, embarrass and humiliate old people in front of their grandchildren as if they are common?? You are DISGRACE to the retail industry!!!
