Cancellation of contract

I phoned ADT to cancel my contract for the armed response for the house, i was told to write an email, i wrote an email two wieeks ago, up until now i have not received any response from ADT. I would like the cancellation to be done with immediate effect as 3 weeks have gone passed (which was supposed to be part of my 1months notice)
