Hi Guys.

I bought a PVR somewhere at the end of last year, and I am very happy with the product, except for the remote. The pause/play/Fwd button only lasted a few months, and I then had to buy a new remote. The second remote also only lasted 4 months, and had the same problem with the pause/play button.

I decided not to buy a new remote, and tried swopping it at the local Multichoice office, as I know that you can swop your decoder if there is a problem with it. I am not exactly sure what the T&C are regarding the decoder swopping.

Anyway, they told me that they are not liable for a swop and that I should buy a new one.

So to start: Surely this is a design fault as I am not the only person who have had problems with that button.
I have noticed that the new remotes that are available dont have that toggle switch, thus somebody did realise that there is a problem with the remote design.

I dont believe it could be abuse or wear and tear as I realy dont watch that muchTV. I could understand if the remote lasted a year or so, but there are a few people who I have spoken to who have experienced the same problem.
