I have been a DSTV customer for well over 20 Years and I recently requested DSTV to see if they could not reduce my bill by moving my contract to a cheaper option. I am currently on a Premium package because I am a serious Rugby and Cricket Supporter. Our household like many South African Rugby and Cricket lovers only watch Super Sport 1 and 2 and maybe one or two other channels. To be able to do this Multichoice hold us ransom to pay the Premium Bill which is more than double that of the next option. My feeling is they discriminate against us the rugby and cricket veiwers, and the rest of the South African viewers who loves to watch Soccer and the other sport channels. Why does Multichoice not give us the choice of a cheaper package and move Rugby and Cricket to an affordable package or better still give me, the viewer the choice of choosing the channels I want to watch and price accordingly. Soccer is by far viewed by more South Africans than Rugby and Cricket, can they move those to Super Sport 1 and 2 and Rugby and Cricket to other channels. Do they have the monopoly in the sense they charge the highest possible rate because none other service can give me a cheaper option?
