It is clear to me that SAFTA is not collecting data nor involving the poor and middle class communities of South Africa in their marketing for the annual 'SAFTA' awards. The results are therefore not a true reflection of who or what the majority of South Africans love and celebrate.
It's unfair to run the National Film and Television Awards without giving the ordinary South Africans a free voting method - i.e an easily accessible method that does not cost money to vote for their favorites.
The current method seems to be favoring the white community and therefore does not reflect the majority's point of view. I believe that the Townships watch more SABC shows than the Suburbs.
Let's get it right in 2014!
