Long ques, late for movie

My sister, brother in law, my husband and I all went to Gateway to see The hobbit at the imax theatre.

After standing in ques to buy our tickets for 15minutes (we did try the online service that kept timing out) we went up to join the que for popcorn. My brother in law had already been queing for 10 minutes whilst we were buying our tickets.

We stood in the que for a good 30minutes in order to get popcorn and a drink. I find it completely unacceptable that this seems to be the norm at Gateway cinemas as this is not the first time we have had this experience at Gateway (the first time was off peak season on a Wednesday evening) Due to the fact that we waited so long we did not see the start of the movie.

Should Ster-Kinekor want their customers to adhere to their terms and conditions ie not go buy their snacks elsewhere they need to ensure that all movie goers are served in a timous manner. It is unreasonable to expect the average movie goer to get to the movies 45minute before the movie to ensure they are on time.

Going to the movies is meant to be a pleasant and relaxing experience. Going to the movies at Gateway is more stress than the experience is worth.
